davedz Posted September 9, 2007 Posted September 9, 2007 Is there a way to save searches to use them again? Or, is there a way to take a search and convert it to a script? This would sure save a lot of time.
Søren Dyhr Posted September 9, 2007 Posted September 9, 2007 Indeed you can, the key to it all is: http://www.filemaker.com/help/Script-Steps74.html ...and if it's a very specialized one, loop thru each field of every request and store the gestures in another tables records. http://www.filemakermagazine.com/ ...have a great movie to watch, when you request the Saved Searches video" ...it used to be in the public domain??? --sd
davedz Posted September 9, 2007 Author Posted September 9, 2007 Soren, I didn't make myself clear in my original post. I would like to save a search and be able to come back to it days or weeks later. It would be great if I could take the search and somehow save it or convert it to a script. Dave
comment Posted September 9, 2007 Posted September 9, 2007 (edited) Here's a more accurate link to the video Søren mentioned - it shows a way for USERS to save and recall their search criteria. Link --- If you are the developer, any time you add the Perform Find[] script step and click to specify find requests, the requests and the criteria from the last performed find are going to be entered for you by default. Note, however, that this only works with LITERAL criteria. Edited September 9, 2007 by Guest
