I have a script which creates a new record in t_sessions and, using a lookup, populates about 7 fields.

At the same time, I also want to populate related records (t_songs) in a portal on the layout. The source data is also in a portal, in another (related) file. How can I bring data in, from one portal into another, using a lookup, whenever a new record is created in t_sessions?
