I have a “Customer TO” that holds the standard customer information along with 5 questions such as Income, Sex etc. I have a “Invoices TO” that holds the standard Invoice Information and a “Line Items TO” that handles the standard line item information.

I’ve not been able to figure out how to handle searches. Some of the search criteria is in the Customer TO like Name, Income etc, some is in the Invoice TO like Invoice Nbr, Date etc, and Some is in the Line Items TO such as Item Nbr and Product Description (from the Products TO) etc.

Somehow I have to set up a search routine where a user can make the selections and get the correct information and I have no idea how to do it. I mean, I can set up a script for an easy search but what I’m describing above is just way beyond my understanding.

I can figure out how to script a search within a single file like the Customer TO

“Find every MALE in DALLAS, in the income bracket of $25,000 - $30,000, who drives a CHEVROLET”. I have all of that information in that file. But what about the same information above including an ItemNbr and ProductDescription from the Line Item TO and the Invoice Number and Date from the Invoice TO?

A given users search combinations is almost endless. How would you handle such a thing?

• Where would you set up the searches because of, in this example, three TO’s involved?

• where would you desplay the results of the search?

• What about when the user doesn't want to see the display of the results, they just want the number?

I sure hope you guys have an answer because I’m really clueless on this one.
