MaxcyD Posted January 9, 2002 Posted January 9, 2002 I am using FMP5.0 on a PC and am using the FMP5.0 internal database security setting/permissions for accessing a CDML Website. I have set up one Password to allow access to the whole database pluse one additional field in the database for viewing and editing. I have set up another Password (nopassword-blank) to allow those users access to the rest of the DB fields except the additional field above (hidden). Since FileMaker defaults to using "nopassword" when set up in its security/permission setting, how do I get the browser to prompted for a Password so those users that need access to the additional "hidden" field can get to it? I realize that if I do not allow the "nopassword" users to edit the records via security/permissions, that I can force a Password Prompted? Any Ideas?
Garry Claridge Posted January 10, 2002 Posted January 10, 2002 I think you should look at using the "Web Security" database. With it you have more setup flexibility. The user will be prompted, by the browser, for username and password. Hope this helps. Garry
