How do you set menu options and values n CDML so that all values in that field are selected when the client does not wish to limit the results on the basis of that field?

I have tried setting that default value to blank, to "@" to "*" and nothing works.

Sorry if this is elementary, but I scoured this forum for the answer.

Make sure the menu option selected is null or blank. Completely.
