Wildcards in if/then statements

Are there wildcards that can be used in CDML tags, such as [FMP-IF: fieldname.cn.*], where * is a wildcard? I would like to trigger some action if there is anything entered into the given field.

Check to see that the field is not empty: [FMP-IF: fieldname.neq.]
