Can anyone think of a reason why a text file would be grayed out and not available for import? One of our members claims he cannot import the file. He is on a Mac so I can't connect and look at it but I have never heard of this and can't figure it out. There is a script to import the file and it's been working for hundreds of members for years so that's not the problem.

Probably already asked, but:

Did they choose a Text format in the Import window.

Is the file a Text file?

Sorry, I didn't notice that the files were being served, and that it was script generated. Have you gone to the station and watched them do the import?

Yes they have selected tab separated text and I can't go to the station because they are 500 miles away.

Is this user new, or an old hand?

IMO, FileMaker is telling you/them that the file isn't Text.

I'd start by having them send you a copy of the text file.
