LaRetta Posted September 29, 2007 Posted September 29, 2007 (edited) Hi everyone, We have two servers listed as favorites in Open Remote. Both servers have their own licensed copy of FMS9. One server (called Development) is currently housing our files (while being designed) and they reside in Databases. They are being served. The other server (called Production) USED to have files in it which were served. That was unserved and the files removed. But still ... when I open FM9 and select REMOTE, both servers show in my favorites list (all good) but ... if I click that second server 'Production', it still lists those files there! And I can select them. Of course it then says they aren't there but why are they showing at all? It can be confusing because it is the same files that we now have on Development. And, although I've searched the Production server and know none of those files exist on it, it always makes me cringe to see them still listed there. I deleted the server from My Favorites and re-added it (which fixed the problem) but it seems that FM, when you click a favorite server, should look and grab a new list of any files in databases - and it does not. This appears to be funky behavior ... no, I didn't call it a bug ... but it is not what I would expect from that Open Remote dialog box. LaRetta Edited September 29, 2007 by Guest
Steven H. Blackwell Posted September 29, 2007 Posted September 29, 2007 Restart the server where this problem appeared? Steven
LaRetta Posted October 1, 2007 Author Posted October 1, 2007 Hi Steven, Are you saying that this isn't normal behavior (for the open remote list not to refresh) and that it was a fluke? I wouldn't think that normally we should need to reboot a server just so it shows the correct files in it's remote listing. I would think that, when clicking a favorites server, it THEN looks at the files and creates the list. Is this also your understanding? Thank you for responding! :wink2:
