Newbies knobshine Posted October 8, 2007 Newbies Posted October 8, 2007 Hi, I need to get 2x scripts going, one that can close an open database in FM Server 8 and another that will open it for publishing again. I'm very new to filemaker and I haven't been able to find any examples of scripts similar to this. Any help will be much appreciated. Thanks (ps. it's not for backup so the backup function in FM Server scheduled tasks won't help me)
IdealData Posted October 8, 2007 Posted October 8, 2007 There is a suite of FMSADMIN commands which are detailed in the FMServer Admin help. These commands are designed to be run as command line entries so I presume you can script them - sorry, I'm no windoze man on this one.
Newbies knobshine Posted October 8, 2007 Author Newbies Posted October 8, 2007 (edited) I'll have a look, thanks. -edit: Nice, got it set up, thanks. Ended up making 2x .bat files that just ran the fmsadmin command line commands to open and close the DB respectivley. Then just added those two .bat files to windows schedular. I know it's a bit of a round-about method, but I have no idea how to go about writing FM scripts... yet. Edited October 9, 2007 by Guest
