Keith M. Davie Posted February 6, 2002 Posted February 6, 2002 Judy, you must be using IWP. Oh well. You can do nothing about that. Should you decide to become a developer who creates web applications for FileMaker you will need to learn custom publishing (html and cdml) - lots of learning curves. Why don't you check to see if you are using Instant Web Publishing? If that is your choice you must understand that it is wysiwyg and you have no control - period. So take ten deep breaths and then start by reading about a years worth of threads from these forums. You will know from that if you want to proceed on this daunting task. It is going to take you several months. If your employer is breathing down your neck for immediate results, don't worry. It is going to take you several months anyhow. If it was that easy your employer would be doing this, not you. Relax. Spend a few weeks reading and learning. Then attempt to do something. Oh yeah. You might find a few threads about scripts which are worth reading. Then there is a truly great thread about security loopholes in FMP. That is a must read. Good luck. Newbies Judy Posted February 7, 2002 Newbies Posted February 7, 2002 I SET UP A BUTTON ON MY DBASE THAT, WHEN SELECTED, WILL OPEN ANOTHER DBASE FILE. IT STOPS SHORT OF COMPLETING THE FUNCTION BECAUSE YOU HAVE TO CHOOSE THE "OPEN" OPTION ONCE THE SCRIPT FINDS THE FILE IN ORDER FOR THE FILE TO ACTUALLY OPEN. THE CONFUSING PART OF THIS IS, THIS SCRIPT WORKS IF I CHOOSE IT FROM THE "SCRIPT" DROP-DOWN MENU OR GO INTO THE EDIT MODE OF THE SCRIPT AND SELECT PERFORM. WHY DOESN'T IT WORK FROM THE DBASE? PLEASE HELP - I CAN'T SEEM TO GET OFF THE GROUND WITH SCRIPT 'STUFF".
