Greg O'Connor Posted October 21, 2007 Posted October 21, 2007 Hi. I am new to FileMaker 9 Server. I cannot find a way to "Auto Start" FileMaker 9 Server. Does anybody know how this can be accomplished? Also, any experience running FileMaker 9 on a Mac Mini? What amount of RAM is recommended? Thanks Greg
Greg O'Connor Posted October 21, 2007 Author Posted October 21, 2007 I found the "Auto Start" settings in the server Admin Console : Configuration :: General Settings :: Auto Start However, if there are any recommendations out how to run FM Server 9 on an Mac Mini, I would appreciate any hints. Thanks Greg
xochi Posted October 24, 2007 Posted October 24, 2007 Hi Greg, I'm a big fan of the mac minis as lightweight FileMaker Servers. If you search the forums, you'll find some...ahem..lively discussion of the pros & cons of the mini. A setup I like: Intel Core Duo Mac Mini with 2GB RAM Dual external 2.5" firewire 400 drives (gives a total of 3 drives for backup goodness) Headless operation with Apple Remote Desktop (ARD) UPS, with the built-in OS X UPS settings set to cleanly shut down the server on power failure. (bet you didn't know OS X has built in UPS features did you?) Ask me more, I'm happy to talk about the mini...
