Glenda Posted October 26, 2007 Posted October 26, 2007 IS there a restriction on database size that the server 8 will open? I have 3 databases each set up exactly the same but the server will not open the one that is 32 meg. Glenda
Genx Posted October 26, 2007 Posted October 26, 2007 The restriction is 8 terra bytes. The reason your server will probably not open that file is because it didn't pass its consistency checking - i.e. your file is corrupt. Check the server logs by opening up the admin console going to Windows Admin Tools -> Event Viewer > FileMaker Server 8. Order by the type column so you see all the red errors and it should tell you why the file wasn't opened.
LaRetta Posted October 26, 2007 Posted October 26, 2007 Have you checked each file under File > Sharing > FileMaker Network and verified network sharing is ON for all or privileged Users? It's an easy thing to overlook.
Glenda Posted October 26, 2007 Author Posted October 26, 2007 Thank you heaps! yes that was the problem. It is funny how it continued to work until it was put on the server. until my next problem.... Glenda
