Enter Find Request - Global field

Featured Replies

Just wondering if there is any way to insert a global field in the edit find request criteria, or if not, what is the best way to use global fields to perform finds?

Thanks

You can:

1. Enter Find Mode

2. Set Field myField to gField

3. Perform Find.

what is the best way to use global fields to perform finds

It has to globals, why exactly this urge? Why not a local variable or even a recursive script picking up the present records data, or data found in a cartesian related record??

I have set up 2 global fields, date_start and date_end.

I would like users to be able to enter the start an end dates into these fields, and then run a variety of reports.

I thought the best way would be a global field.

I have tried to use set field, but it is not being co-opative with a date range; ie:

date_start ... date_end comes up as "The number cannot be evaluated"
