Glenn there have been two recent postings on the Internet forums which include in their thread title "currentdate". Find and read those two threads. They may give you some insights into what you are attempting to accomplish.

Is there a way to automatically put in the date when a form has been submitted. I have a date field in my databased and I tried the -currentdate with the value of date in my form's hidden fields. The only thing I see or think is that you can return a date to the broswer. I just want it to show what day a survey has been inputed. Thanks
