I was curious if its possible to import an excel file by drag&drop to an icon for a database.

I am using OSX4 and XP

You can drop an excel file on the FileMaker application icon to convert it. Is that what you mean?

no, sorry, I didnt explain well.

As a function of importing the data within the excel file to a filemaker table, or possibly even to create a table with the data.

I've never heard of any way to drag and drop onto a document icon, only to application icons.

But you can import directly from excel to either an existing table or to a new table.
