edmonton Posted November 16, 2007 Posted November 16, 2007 Hi All We are having a unique problem. We have a solution that has been developed in FM 8. This solution is hosted on a server. We now hosted this solution on an FM server 9 with FM 9. A lot of fields use WinExample plug-in to call scritps. The problem is the WinExample plug-in does not show in Edit->Preferences->Plug-ins window. When we check it in C:/Prgram Files/File Maker/File Maker 9.0 Advanced/Extensions folder, WinExample.fmx is there. We tried deleting it and copying another one. We also unistalled FM 9 and installed it again, but still the same problem. We if open a local copy of our solution, everything works fine. Please help me as this is driving us nuts. Thanx
Søren Dyhr Posted November 16, 2007 Posted November 16, 2007 With the latest upgrade to 9.02 should you in the readme be able to find a text like this: 11.10. Auto-updated plug-ins from FileMaker Server are downloaded to new locations under the current user’s application data folder. Windows XP: C:Document SettingsUser NameLocal SettingsApplication DataFileMakerExtensions Windows Vista: C:UsersUser NameAppDataLocalFileMakerExtensions Mac OS X: Macintosh HD:Users:User Name:Library:Application Support Both FileMaker Pro and Pro Advanced will load from its Extensions folder before loading from the current user’s FileMaker Extensions folder. You should also install plug-ins in the above folders. Could that be the issue? --sd
Chris Dragon Posted January 23, 2008 Posted January 23, 2008 My best guess is that your version of the example plugin was compiled under FM7 or FM8 and it checks the version number and decides not to load in FM9. If you have a copy of FM9 Advanced, you can find the source code of the example plugin on the CD and compile it for FM9 (there's probably a compiled version of it there, too). Or you can migrate to using the free EventScript plugin or my Gap_Filler plugin.
