Hi all this is my First post since joining FM Forums...

So here it goes..

What I need to do is sort all of my records based on the characters from right to left instead of left to right..

It is something that I think should be quite straight forward but at the moment after spending 2 days looking at it I am coming up blank.

Please help..

Hi thanks for the welcome that looks really good and exactly what I need to do.. But I havent got advanced can I add custom functions without advanced?

That custom function is recursive, so yes you would but you can try this one

that isn't recursive.

Great I have got it to work....

However it is one of those times when you know what you want to accomplish. And you convince yourself how to accomplish it....

Only to find out the you dont get the results you were looking for..

I need it to assign symbols such as @ to the begining of the sort. this way I can get all entries that have symbols at the begining or the end can be grouped together.

I hope this makes more sense,

I just needed to change the field to unicode.
