Hi,

I would like to know how to open a specific document in the filemaker program either in word or excel. I am storing the docs in the database main folder itself in individual files. I am new to this. Can anyone helpme?

One way is to create a container field and then use the function

Insert File function from the menu or in a script step. Select the 'Store only a reference to the file' option. Double clicking the icon in the container will launch the original like you wanted.
