December 3, 200718 yr Newbies Hello, I'm a Cub Scout Leader, and am evaluating FMPro for use in managing my paperwork (and ideally creating a solution I can distribute to others). I've created a basic DB (attached), and I'd very much appreciate any feedback on where I might be going right or wrong. In particular, one thing I'm struggling with is managing the relationship between people records: some people are Youth Members (who must have one or more Guardians), and some others are Guardians. To differentiate between the two I've created a 'boolean' field (YouthMember). I have a List of "people" (PeopleFullNames) which I'd rather have as "people who are guardians" (GuardiansFullName) (i.e. a filtered list of all people where YouthMember = false). I've read the help on the "include only related values", but can't see how I'd actually implement it... On a related point: I've created a self-join and portal to show a person's Guardian(s), though I'd also like to show a person's Guardee(s) (i.e. all people who have the current record as a guardian). In general only one of those two portals should have any related records (a YouthMember can't be a Guardian). (Is there any way of disabling / greying out fields based on another field or calculation?) In the attached example, I've only succeeded in showing "sibling" guardees (I guess I'm going one relation too far?) Can a standalone / runtime app be shared via "instant web sharing"? i.e. if I buy the Developer version and create a standalone app to provide to others, can they in turn share the app over the web? Thanks in advance for any and all advice! Ben Scouts.fp7.zip Edited December 4, 200718 yr by Guest
December 3, 200718 yr Welcome Ben Comments on IWP 1. IWP is not available within runtime solutions 2. A runtime solution cannot open shared files nor can it share them 3. IWP has many restrictions and design considerations You might consider a hosted service that allows web publishing (plenty around) but you will have a monthly cost to bear.
