Hi,

I get a -103 general activation error when I try to launch FM 9.0 when logged into my PC via Remote Desktop.

Is anyone else aware of a workaround? i like to remote in from client sites sometimes to enter an invoice, etc and this prevents me from doing it.

seems like FMP devs didn't distinguish between single user Remote Desktop sessions which should be allowable under the license agreement, and a full-blown MS Terminal Server which supports multiple users.

help?

And also bugging me :)-)

Being new to Remote Desktop Connection (RDC) - can you confirm that to access an FMP 9 database with RDC:

1. The FMP 9 database be launched on the host computer

2. That FMP 8.5 be launched on the connecting computer before activating RDC to access the FMP 9.

Or is there another particular order that FMP versions need to be launched?

Thank you very much for any advice.

Well, I knuckled under and purchased gotomypc just to be able to open 9 remotely.

I'm not suggesting any particular order. 8.5 would open, 9 would not.

Seems absurd on XP running terminal services, as there is no way to abuse the license with rdp in this setup.

This is due to the activation being disturbed, somehow, by the mere fact that remote desktop is running. If you put FMP9 in the startup group, restart the machine, then connect to it through remote desktop, it's OK. If you then close FMP9 and start it again, you'll get error -103 again.
