shortmatt Posted December 7, 2007 Posted December 7, 2007 I have FM Server 7 running on Windows XP. It's been stable for a a while now. Recently when I try to work on the server, I've been unable to login even directly from that machine - Iget a "login failed " error message, or just a failure with no error message. Has anyone else seen this problem? Any suggestions about how to get back into the administrator panel? Thanks! Matt Short MEMdata
Steven H. Blackwell Posted December 8, 2007 Posted December 8, 2007 This issue was fairly common in Server 7. Your admin preferences have become damaged. 1. Stop the FileMaker Server services from the Windows Services Control Panel. If this is Server Advanced make sure you stop all 3. 2. [color:red]With very great care, local the AdminAuth registry key, and delete it. If you are uncomfortable dealing with the registry, get someone to assist you. [color:red]Do nothing else in or to the Registry. 3. After deleting the AdminAuth key, immediately reboot the server. You should now be able to reestablish connectivity to the server. 4. Be sure to have the latest version of Server 7 (7.0v3) installed. And I'd recommend using Windows Server 2003 Standard Edtion SP 1 as the OS. Steven
