I wondering if it's possible to use two FMS 9 servers to access the same data file. Also I'm wondering if the a server could upload a remote data file.

I haven't occured to me before just, but yes under fm9 if the backbone is a MySQL base and the only the interface table, and perhaps a few calc'fields resides under the wings of each server ... should a series of servers be able to be run simultaneously on say VMWare with the same backbone since each workstain recieves it's own IP number.

But the price of the licenses involved would probably dissuade most from such an approach and you would instead benefit from to migrate your filemaker stuff with this, order to solve the pending scaling issues:

If he means the same FileMaker data file, I do not know of a way to do this directly. OTOH, File A hosted on Server 1 can access File B hosted on Server 2. But I don't think that's what we are intending here?
