eboxhead Posted January 2, 2008 Posted January 2, 2008 So I'm creating a database to help manage public events. I'm having issues trying to get the time to be entered correctly. If i set a field as a time type, it requires me to enter the full hh:mm:ss. I would like to be able to enter time in just hours, minutes, and AM / PM, but still be able to use it in time calculations. Any ideas? Thanks!
The Shadow Posted January 2, 2008 Posted January 2, 2008 Not unless you added some additional validations, it doesn't. You can enter a single number into a default time field, or "3 pm", or "3:15 am", etc.
Lee Smith Posted January 2, 2008 Posted January 2, 2008 (edited) This topic comes up from time to time. I just did a search for [color:blue]Text Entry Time, and got a lot of hits. (Enter search as [color:blue]+text +Time +Entry with the pluses). and Also for +Time +Mask, Take a look at this topic, Here, or maybe this old post if that one doesn't do it Link If you have access to a Developer, or Advance copy of FileMaker (i.e. Custom Functions), then you might even use this CF http://www.briandunning.com/cf/612 HTH Lee I forgot one of the links I was intending to point you to. There is a sample file Here Go to Resourses, and search for [color:blue]Text Time Edited January 2, 2008 by Guest p.s.
