Filemaker 8.5. I would like to create a script that saves a clone of the open file, automatically inserting the file name from Get(filename). The script step Save a Copy As does not seem to permit automatic insertion of a file name. It wants the user has to type one in.

This is not true, if you look carefully at the def. in the "Save as ..." can it take $variables, instead of hardwired paths.
