Saddletramp Posted January 17, 2008 Posted January 17, 2008 New Problem! I have a database in the "Data" folder to be served. The file is there but the networked computers can't see it in the remote list. It could be seen yesterday but today it's not on the list. The only changes that were done was the installation of quickbooks fish bowl lastnight. All the other served dbs's can be seen but not the one I'm looking for. Is there a switch that can be turned off that needs to be turned back on? Any Ideas are welcome Thanks The Tramp
Steven H. Blackwell Posted January 19, 2008 Posted January 19, 2008 I have no idea what a "Quickbooks fish bowl" is, but why is it on your FileMaker Server? Check to be sure that the Console settings allow enough files and that the specific file wasn't told not to display its name. Steven
Saddletramp Posted January 21, 2008 Author Posted January 21, 2008 All we have is one server, Does Filemaker need it's own server? Like I said previously I am just learning about File Maker. How do I go about learning if the file was told not to show it's name. The Tramp

How do I go about learning if the file was told not to show it's name. The recommendation has always been for FileMaker Server to run on a dedicated machine. In the sharing options of the FMPf ile there is a check box for telling the file not to display its name. Steven
