Import from a generated Excel file

Featured Replies

Hi,

I got a unique Import issue. I got this Excel file generated from a certain program. However, when I want to do import these records (which are readable by Excel), it will cause FM to crash?

However, when I re-saved it to Excel, then it would be fine.

Can someone enlighten me with some information?

Thank you in advance for all the comments.. :

Test.zip

The file also crashes my FM7 app. I opened in Excel and saved a copy as test2. The test2 file opens fine. By looking at each file in notepad you can see some definate differences.

What program is creating the Excel file?

I am using Monarch Pro in creating the file.

Hi Guys,

Same here.

The excel file is generated by a web-object tool.

I had the issue for some time, so now always script my mac scripts/processes to open the excel file and resave it with Excel.

Worked fine so far.

Interested in getting any more details if we have a FM/Excel guru out there.

Thx,

Julien

Hi Julian,

I thought there was a problem with some kind of elements that generated by outside Excel that cannot be read by FM. Also, I noticed that FM can only read XLS not XLSX?

What is your web-object tools name?
