HI

I'm using Business Productivity Solution - Contacts, that you can download free. I want to add an Invoice Number into a letter that I send to the Client but I have more than one invoice number for that one person. I have just merged field before and it has worked fine till I now have more than one product that was bought for that one person, is there a way that I can get merge field to choose the most recent product Order.

Thanks anything would be a great help

Thanks Michael

Any reference to a related field - not just merged - returns its value from the first related record (following the sort order of the relationship). To get data from the most recent related record, you can either define the relationship to sort related records by date descending, or use the Last() function.

Thank you so much for all that. I have already tried changing the Order that it is sorted but it still chooses the first one I created. The coding looks like <> Where do I put the Last():B??? Thank you so much for the help it is much appreciated.

I don't know if this helps but it is a field in a Portal that gets its information from a layout.

I'm new to this program so I don't know how to run it very well.

Thank for all your help

Thank you so much

I have worked it out. Took a bit for my mind to get around it. You have been a great help. Everything you said worked just right.

Thanks

Michael
