I did a quick glance around looking for this, but found nothing on this topic.

I am running FM6 and my boss wants to purchase 9. I am trying to open a fairly complicated database and have run into two problems. I cannot go into our existing/functioning program on our file server because I am not going to mess something up and render the backbone of our whole program useless... so I copied a last years to my hardrive and tried to open it. It will not open. When I tried to convert it to 9, I could not get it to work because of the password. Any ideas>??

It will not open. Can you be more specific. Do you have FM6 installed on that workstation?

As for passwords, contact the developer of the solution or try "Admin" for both the Account Name and password.

Let's hope this is not on a fileserver, but rather on a database server. Othewise there are going to be problems.
