Can't make WindowNames function work properly

I need access to currently open window names to script in closing certain specific windows.

I can make the WindowName function work in two ways, neither of which matches what I read (and what I need) as described in the help file. I should be able to have it display only currently open windows.

Formula 1 (see attachment 1) shows one open window (Story Builder - yellow background) when in fact there are three windows open.

Formula 2 (see attachment 2) shows three open windows (see window with blue background) when only one window is in fact open.

Both calculation fields reside in only one of 10 related tables.

Any insights greatly appreciated and thanks in advance for any and all shared wisdom.

Is the calculation field with the function unstored? These "status" type functions only evaluate correctly if they are unstored, or used in a script.
