Does Sliding work when the layout objects in question are located in a Sub Summary Part?

I have a field that I want to expand based on the amount of text entered but it does not seem to work.

The only thing that seems different is that I have it in a Sub Summary part instead of a Body Part where I have succesfully used the technique in the past.
