Recording date of new record and reecord changes

Is it possible to program FM to record a date when a new record is created and another date if a change is made to a record.

I am not yet very familiar with Filemaker, so please forgive me if I have not posted in the proper place or have not made myself clear. Any direction would be most appreciated.

Create a Date field and under options select Auto-enter Creation Date. Do the same for Modification Date.

Mr Vodka is correct I have that set up in my Filemaker 7 when a new record is created it automayically assigns the date it was created and when ever anyone makes a change to that record i have another field wich shows me who changed it what date it was changed and what time it was changed.
