Has anyone been able to use "two-character" fonts such as Chinese or Japanese in FMP 5?

Is there Plug-in support for these?

I've noticed that using FMP 5 , and Mac OS 9.0.4 I can paste Chinese/Japanese fonts into a Text field, but I can't type them in directly.

I appriciate ANY insight on this issue.
