Greetings.

I have installed FM8.5 to a new computer and when trying to connect to our server I receive the error message "Filemaker cannot share or be a client of a file because the networking stack cannot be initialised".

I have found some information relating to winsock and have tried thier reccomendations but without success.

Has anyone had this problem and managed to solve it?

Thanks in advance...

I seem to recall this occures, when I have sharing of both fm5 and fm8+ solutions turned on, try to turn sharing off one of the solutions ... provided that both solutions are running- of course??

I have been having the same trouble ... I tried everything above. It only stared working when I copied the server.pem file from another computer running filemaker and copied to the computer with the problem.

good luck
