Osman Posted June 10, 2008 Posted June 10, 2008 While executing FileMaker 8.5 Runtime on customer's machine, it crashes and does not open. Error is returned by windows xp (Send Error Report dialog appears). Error dialog details is here: AppName: fiyat listesi.exe AppVer: 8.5.1.89 ModName: lmabb2dd.dll ModVer: 0.3.0.0 Offset: 00014170 Anyone has the same problem before? How do I beat this problem?? Thanks in advance.
Søren Dyhr Posted June 10, 2008 Posted June 10, 2008 It looks although I'm a little rusty on turkish : as if you have moved the file without making sure all the required dll files required were relocated too. I have unfortunately not with much luck yet tried to change the .exe file to embed the myriad of .dll's actually required by using this tool: http://www.pgware.com/products/alloy/ If you should get the hang of it's use - would I gladly listen to your recipee??? --sd
Raybaudi Posted June 10, 2008 Posted June 10, 2008 Error is returned by windows xp... Has that pc SP2 ?
Osman Posted June 10, 2008 Author Posted June 10, 2008 win xp sp2 installed on the machine. I try to run another runtime file in my mobile disk on the same computer to check any missing dll or croupted files. But it does not open too. In addition Turkish text in the dialog is not meaningful, standard windows error reporting text. I can translate it if you want. thanks
Osman Posted June 10, 2008 Author Posted June 10, 2008 I just mean "Rapor oluşturma ayrintilari" ("Report generation details" in English), you know it is about privacy issue in general. So it is not important for error does not give any information about error. I send the dialog box for top part only (AppName, AppVersion...). I forget to take technical report content. I am sure technical content says lots about the error but I am not sure any body outside of the ms can understand it. I will be copy technical description text in my next visit to my customer.
Søren Dyhr Posted June 11, 2008 Posted June 11, 2008 The fiddling emoticon was chosen, because it's a well known observation you made with the engineering approach MS considers relevant to "indulge" the user in: http://www.smallco.net/RestrainYourself.pdf Where you head straight down to the joke: "The pilot of a small plane is hopelessly lost in a cloud bank." --sd
