Hi. When exporting the ''return'' key in a text calculation field and importing into Quark Xpress I actually get the ''enter'' key which forces a new text box in quark instead of just returning the line. I have tried using <n> an Xpress Tag that gives a soft return to bodge the job, but this isn't ideal. Grateful for any ideas. Cheers.

There is a shareware application called Character Assassin that will allow you to create and copy any ASCII code. The code for return (ACSII 13) can then be pasted into a calculation:

Export Field (calc, text) = Field & "pastehere "

Export the new field.

Take a lool for Character Assassin at www.downloads.com. If you can't find it, I'll send you a copy. This also works for some other ASCII characters.
