Jed69 Posted July 3, 2008 Posted July 3, 2008 I have a database with three fields for name, "Title", "First Name", "Last Name" as requested by the customer. Even though I have pointed out on many occasions that I needed to see the source data that they wished to import to the database from the start of the design process, I have only just received it and the "name" information is contained in just one field. And if this was not bad enough the data in that one field is in many different formats like "Mr. Joe Bloggs", "Mr J. Bloggs" and "Mr. J.P. Bloggs" to name a few. I think I know the answer to my question is to go back to the start of the database and to amend the field where ever it has been used, but I thought I would ask the question if any of you cleaver people know of a way to split the data into three fields as I import it.
iMarcW Posted July 3, 2008 Posted July 3, 2008 I had this question answered for me recently, though I didn't have a title field to contend with: http://fmforums.com/forum/showtopic.php?tid/194571
