Portal details not updating on parent layout

I have a setup very similar to that referred to by Comment in 196128 - Child records displayed in a portal, details for the selected child record are displayed on the parent layout

All works fine and the selected child record details are displayed on the parent layout when a script is run - Set Field[ContactsPortal::GContactID; ContactsPortal::ContactID].

The problem I have is that if a child field is edited outside the portal, when the script is run again the child record on the parent layout does not change unless I click somewhere on the parent layout either before or after running the script.

How do I recreate this in a script, I have tried Refresh Window, Go To Object... but no joy.

Hi Paul,

Have you tried Commit Record/Request? Then, do the Refresh Windows with all options checked.

Thanks for the reply, Refresh was all that I needed with both options checked - had not been checking the options.
