Printing to Sharp Multi-function printer.

I have users with two separate Filemaker 9 applications. In both cases, when they attempt to print any report to a Sharp multifunction printer/copier, such as an AR-207 printer, Filemaker simply terminates abruptly. No warning or error messages. This has happened on 3 different Sharp devices. Sharp drivers have been updated on the PC's in use. There appear to be no articles on the www.Filemaker.com site.

Printers are a curse - sometimes is it filemakers color scheme that doesn't coincide with the mixture from the inks ... but I havn't seen that ever since fm5.

Try to remove graphic elements one by one and see if it continues to happen, but before trying make a backup of your file, and turn back to backup and work on a new copy after each crash. You do unfortunately have to make notes to approach it as systematically as possible.

This brings up another issue, other applications attempts to make prints might have similar flaws, you should try to install one of those tools that capture the printout as .pdf, and see if it makes filemaker crash again, and then if the printing of the newly created pdf makes problems too.

Here's one, have no idea how good it is compared to other similar tools:

Filemaker simply terminates abruptly
.

Do you mean that FileMaker crashes, or that the printing just doesn't happen?

Welp ... this is a copy and paste job for me but it's the same:

We haven't been able to run FM9 in our Citrix environment for this very reason. They someohow managed to make printing even worse in the new version. Your best bet is to call up FM support and start a support case.

There seems to be a serious although finicky bug causing FM to crash when printing. Several users have reported it here but it's usually hit and miss.
