I'm running FMS on an old mono-core G4 machine and I'm looking to upgrade our hardware. Does someone have information regarding FMS ability to make use of multiple processors?

For example, if FMS has requests from multiple clients will distribute the workload or simply load it up onto a single processor? What about other tasks (like Find requests), that logically should be able to make use of multiple processors to improve performance?

I guess that's just another way of asking whether FMS is multithreaded on Mac OS X? Hasn't any tried opening the Terminal and running 'top'?

It depends on the version of FMS.

Any version of FMS before 7 cannot. For version 7 and later, they can take advantage (via the operating system).
