Database server is not launching

Hello,

When I start the admin console, I have this message :(

data base server : ODBC/JDBC off

And when I try to launch the data base server, nothing changes.

On the log file "Event.log", I have this message that comes from time to time : "Another copy of FM Server is already working with this installation code". But I can't find that other server running.

Strange because it has worked fine for a while.

I am using FMS9 on Mac OSX 10.4.11 PPC G4.

Thnaks for your help

I have had the same issue at times. I closed FMS and reopen and it usually works. If not, I reboot the server and that takes care of the problem. I must admit I had it happen more often when it was a new installation. I have been using FMS for about 5 months and it seems to have stabilized. Of course when you are using a Windows OS stabilized is a relative term. :(

"I am using FMS9 on Mac OSX 10.4.11 PPC G4"

That's interesting... the minimum spec is a G5 processor.

FWIW I have an identical installation, albeit I'm not using it as the main system, however I have had NO PROBLEMS at all with FMS9 in this configuration.

The database server and all other deployments always run.

Are you absolutely sure you don't have another installation of FMS9 in your network?
