Hi World!

I'm a beginner with FM, so I'm having several trouble.

I have created 3 different tables with relations between them as they share common fields.

My plan is to make a layout with "loaded" fields from other tables. So I created a new table with the fields I want to load into the layout, but I don't what to do to load data from other tables.

Firstly, I simply defined the fields (double click on the field - Specify Field) as the original field I wanted to load but nothing... :

I've tried the "lookup" option, and nothing.

I really don't understand very well the relation and portal subjects. I've been researching through internet, FM help and it seems very hard for me to understand it.

Please post an example file.

Please elaborate more about your DB. It's hard to explain relationships to a novice without explaining it using their model.

Search this forum for "relationship". Don't confuse yourself on the portals until you understand relationships

Understand the meaning of a parent record and there child records.

I'm sure when you post again with a clearer question everyone will chip in and help.

In "Mas Pedidos" Layout, I've put 4 columns. 3 of them are directly fields from "Musica" table which I've related. There's one column ("Cantidad") which I created in order to count how many records have the same value in "Codigo" field.

This is for a music ranking where I have 2 origin tables: "Central" informs about a server's activity and "Musica" has data about all tracks in server.

"Mas pedidos" layout tries to make a ranking of most voted tracks.

Let me see if I get what you are doing...

You are trying to record what tracks from albums are rated the highest.

Who/How does data get entered?

I'll work through what I can see with you sample and send it back.
