Dropdown for years to change month fields

Featured Replies

Greetings. Let me begin by pointing out my Filemaker abilities are limited, but unfortunately so is the time alloted to me to actually learn it. But, I am almost done with what I am doing, I just need to know how to do one more thing.

My client is a nonprofit org, and they want to keep track of their Volunteers' hours by month for each volunteer.

What I was thinking of doing is on each individual volunteer lay out, I will have a field for January, one for February, etc for all 12 months that will allow them to input the time. I was wanting to have a popup menu dropdown above that to allow them to select the year, 2006, 2007, etc that will change the month fields to correspond with that year. Keeping in mind that I assume the field names for the months will have to be different based on what year it is, because I will be doing totals for each year in the reports.

Any help would be very much so appreciated.

This is unfortunately relational unhealthy, how would you summarize on such a lack of structure ... since you're on fm6 is there a lot of things you need to make via concatenated key fields to make things usher into the right slots and establish sortorder...

Here is a very complex template that however is pretty well structured, at least is worth to get some ideas from:
