August 4, 200817 yr Greetings. Let me begin by pointing out my Filemaker abilities are limited, but unfortunately so is the time alloted to me to actually learn it. But, I am almost done with what I am doing, I just need to know how to do one more thing. My client is a nonprofit org, and they want to keep track of their Volunteers' hours by month for each volunteer. What I was thinking of doing is on each individual volunteer lay out, I will have a field for January, one for February, etc for all 12 months that will allow them to input the time. I was wanting to have a popup menu dropdown above that to allow them to select the year, 2006, 2007, etc that will change the month fields to correspond with that year. Keeping in mind that I assume the field names for the months will have to be different based on what year it is, because I will be doing totals for each year in the reports. Any help would be very much so appreciated.

This is unfortunately relational unhealthy, how would you summarize on such a lack of structure ... since you're on fm6 is there a lot of things you need to make via concatenated key fields to make things usher into the right slots and establish sortorder... Here is a very complex template that however is pretty well structured, at least is worth to get some ideas from: http://www.databasepros.com/FMPro?-DB=resources.fp5&-lay=cgi&-format=list.html&-FIND=+&resource_id=DBPros000291 --sd
