Mark Thiessen Posted August 4, 2008 Posted August 4, 2008 When I setup the server I bypassed the option to save an icon on my desktop. Now I'd like to do that. Is there a way to do it after I bypassed that option? In lieu of that, I've saved console in the dock, when I quit Admin Console the icon changes to rectangular gray square with "exec" in corner. When I launch it from dock, Terminal opens instead of Admin Console. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.
Mark Thiessen Posted August 4, 2008 Author Posted August 4, 2008 OK, I solved the problem. Here is the solution in case I forget and need to find the solution again. I went to Java Web Start in Utilities->Java folder. In the User tab I selected the recently run console application for my server and selected "Create Desktop Application" under the Application menu. Then I dragged this icon into the dock and all is well, even when I quit.
looter Posted June 18, 2010 Posted June 18, 2010 I would love to use this tip but can’t find the settings referred to here. Does this still work with Server 10? If so where exactly are these settings? Thanks
