owaring Posted August 5, 2008 Posted August 5, 2008 is it possible to save a file (in this instance a pdf) to the server machine instead of the client machine? once again I've exhausted my resources! If anyone can give me a nudge in the right direction id be grateful
Vaughan Posted August 5, 2008 Posted August 5, 2008 Yes, but not through the fmnet protocol. The server would have to have a shared volume set up (using ftp or samba or whatever) and the volume would have to be mounted onto each desktop computer that needs to access the files. What with the need to set up a new protocol and mount it on each desktop etc, plus the fact that file sharing on the fm server box is sub-optimal, there is no *benefit* to have the shared volume on the FM Server box, but lots of reasons to keep them separate.
