trigger to have client enter new user

Hi, I have a database where equipment checkouts are linked to student information based on their ID#. I am trying to set up a trigger so that if a new student is entered and their ID# is not in the studetn info database the client running the equipment checkout will be asked to create a new student record.

The 2 dbases are linked via the Student ID#, simple 2 table design with a portal in tab views.

It sounds like you'll need to use a plugin to trigger a script. Try zippScript.

This could be done without a plugin: type the ID into a global field and get the user to click a button. The button tuns a script that will either link to the student record or prompt to create a new record.

Regarding zipscript: there is something afoot. I don't have details, but have heard that other people do know but are under an NDA and cannot say anything.
