Server and Standalone

Featured Replies

Hi guys seems like a really obvious question but is the only way to get a standalone option to access the same database to use FMServer?? Any other possible solutions would be appreciated.

Thanks Stuart

Hello Stuart

access which 'same' database?

Phil

I don't understand this question. If by "standalone" option, you mean a runtime engine then there is no acesssibility at all for that.

What is it you are trying to do?

The idea was to have multiple standalone runtimes accessing the one database. From what's been said that doesn't seem to be possible.

No, the runtime engine cannot share files. The normal client version of FMP is needed for this.

Runtimes are not networkable.

Their associated data files can be put ionto FileMaker Server and then accessed by any of the supported clients,
