hassam36 Posted August 21, 2008 Posted August 21, 2008 Hello I have a situation where I need to limit the records an individual can see and edit. In the "custom record privileges" section of Manage Accounts and Privileges, for reasons too long to explain here, I need to set their edit access to 'yes' and only restrict the records they can view instead of restricting both their edit and view records ability. However, I don't want them to actually edit anything other than the records they can see. My question is if you do not have the ability to view a record, is there any real way of editing it regardless of what your 'edit' privileges allow? John

You are probably OK on this, but to be sure a lot of tests should be run. I'd simply apply a RecordLevel Access test to the edit capability as well. Steven
