selection in date range

Hi,

I would like to know if someone has ever developed a solution to select a set of data depending of two dates: start - end...

I want to have a button, after activating I would ask for two values (start and end date) then find all records in a single table that meet the criteria, then calculate the number of records found en report this number....

Any idea?
