How to make scriopt to add a number onto an edit field

I do not know much about scripts but can somone tell me how to create a script that adds 1 to a number in an edit field so for example iof there was 2 in the edit field it would add 1 onto it to make 3. I have already tried }:(:count field;::count field + 1 to no avail

Set Field(yourcountfield;yourcountfield+1)
