Cabinetman Posted September 3, 2008 Posted September 3, 2008 Ok, so I just saw that runtimes don't allow for the use of plugins. Not happy...... if what I read here was correct. : In my database currently I have an option to send out emails using SMTPit. Several others would like to use my database but since they don't want to invest in FMP I thought I'd go as a runtime. What options are there? I know I can go with the 'Send Mail' script step but a couple of them use AOL... not sure that'd work. Ideas are always appreciated!!
Vaughan Posted September 3, 2008 Posted September 3, 2008 "Ok, so I just saw that runtimes don't allow for the use of plugins." I don't think that's correct. The only thing FMP has to say about runtimes and plug-ins is: External function plug-ins can be enabled in the Preferences dialog box. To me, this infers that plug-ins can be used in runtimes. Have you tested a runtime yet?
Cabinetman Posted September 3, 2008 Author Posted September 3, 2008 (edited) I haven't gotten quite that far yet.... I was in the process of modifying the directory structure, etc. and thought to check. I did a search here in the forum and saw a message that they weren't supported...... http://fmforums.com/forum/showtopic.php?tid/182276/post/231239/hl/using+plug+in/fromsearch/1/#231239 Although after reading in entirety and checking th dates maybe you can... If so does the directory structure have the same 'Extensions' older? Just made a simple one real quick and see that it does... Guess I'm ok but we'll see.... Edited September 3, 2008 by Guest
Fitch Posted September 4, 2008 Posted September 4, 2008 Runtimes do support plugins. The thread you linked spells it out.
